Most AI efforts stall in the same four places.

The tools are good. What's usually missing is someone to fit them to the work, connect them to your systems and prove they're paying off.

  • Tools bought, habits unchanged

Licences renew every month while the team keeps working the old way, because nobody showed them where AI fits in their actual day.

  • Pilots that never ship

A promising demo sits in a sandbox because no one owns connecting it to the real inbox, CRM or spreadsheet.

  • No number to point at

Without a baseline, nobody can say whether AI saved an hour or cost one, so the budget stalls at the next review.

  • Data rules nobody wrote down

Staff paste sensitive information into public tools because there's no approved, safe way to use AI with company data.

Every engagement here is built to get past all four.

Four ways to start

Every package has a written scope, a fixed fee and an end date. Most clients start with the audit and decide what to build from what it finds.

How an engagement runs

The same four steps whether it's a two-week audit or a ninety-day rollout. You always know what happens next and when.

  1. 1Day 1

    A 30-minute call

We talk through where the hours go and whether AI is the right answer. If it isn't, we'll say so.

  2. 2Week 0

    A written scope

Deliverables, dates, the number we'll move and a fixed fee. Nothing starts until you sign it.

  3. 3The engagement

    Build alongside your team

Weekly working sessions, real progress inside your tools, and a shared tracker so you always see where things stand.

  4. 4Handoff

    Train, measure, hand over

Your people learn to run it, we measure against the baseline, and you keep everything we built.

What an engagement looks like

Example scopes for the kinds of organizations we work with. Real client results appear here only with the client's permission.

Nonprofit

Donor thank-yous in hours, not weeks

The problem
Staff write acknowledgement letters and update the CRM one gift at a time, and thank-yous fall weeks behind after big campaigns.
What gets built
An assistant that drafts a personal thank-you from each gift record for a person to approve, then logs it back to the CRM.
What gets measured
Days from gift to thank-you, and staff hours per hundred gifts.

Professional services

Proposals that start most of the way there

The problem
Senior people rebuild every proposal from old files and lose evenings to formatting and boilerplate.
What gets built
A proposal drafter trained on past winning work, your rates and your voice, inside the tools the team already uses.
What gets measured
Hours per proposal, and proposals sent each month.

Online store

Support that answers in minutes

The problem
The same twenty questions about orders, sizing and returns fill the inbox every morning.
What gets built
A help-desk assistant that drafts answers from your policies and order data, with clear rules for when a person takes over.
What gets measured
Median first-response time, and the share of tickets resolved without escalation.

Field services

Scheduling without the phone tag

The problem
Office staff spend the day on calls and texts to book, confirm and reschedule jobs.
What gets built
An intake and scheduling assistant connected to your calendar and job system, with confirmations sent automatically.
What gets measured
Office hours spent on scheduling, and missed appointments.

Three ways to bring AI into your business

Each one can work. Here's how they usually compare.

Three ways to bring AI into your business
Hire a full-time AI lead A large consulting firm ConsultingAI
Time to a first working system After hiring, onboarding and ramp-up Often after a long discovery phase Weeks, with the date in the written scope
How you pay Salary, benefits and recruiting costs Day rates or a large retainer A fixed fee per package
Who does the work One person, learning your business from scratch Often a junior team, led from a distance The founder, from first call to handoff
What you keep Whatever they document before they move on Reports and recommendations Working systems, documentation and a trained team
Commitment Ongoing employment Multi-month statements of work One package at a time

Who you'll work with

Carter LuenseFounder, Lund Studio

I spent a decade in nonprofit executive leadership, running teams across several states with Habitat for Humanity, where every hour of staff time had to count. In 2024 I founded Lund Studio to build AI products and systems, and I build with AI every day.

ConsultingAI is that practice, offered to your team. The person on your first call is the person who scopes the work, builds it and hands it over.

What does an engagement cost?

Packages run from $495 for a 90-minute working session to $29,500 for a 90-day rollout. The AI Opportunity Audit is $3,500 for teams up to 50 and is credited toward a Pilot Build. Every fee is fixed and written into the scope before work starts, and it only changes if you change the scope.

Do we need technical people on our side?

No. We need the people who do the work today, someone who can make decisions, and access to the tools involved. We handle the build and train your team to run it.

Which AI tools do you use?

Whatever fits your work, your budget and your data rules. Often that means assistants and models you may already pay for, connected to your inbox, CRM, help desk or files. If a tool you already have will do the job, we'll tell you.

What happens to our data?

It stays in accounts you own and control. The scope sets the data rules: what AI can see, who approves its output and what never leaves your systems. We build to those rules.

How soon will we see something working?

The audit delivers its findings in two weeks. A Pilot Build puts a first working version in front of your team early in the engagement, then we refine it with real use.

We already pay for an AI assistant. Why would we need help?

Most teams do. The licence is the easy part. The hours come back when AI is fitted to specific work, connected to your systems, and the team is trained to use it. That's the part we do.

Do you work with nonprofits?

Yes. The founder spent a decade leading nonprofit teams, and lean organizations are often where AI gives back the most time.

What if a pilot falls short of the target?

We set the baseline and the target together in the scope. If a pilot falls short, you get the measurement, the reasons and a recommendation in writing, so the next decision is easy to make.

Tell us where the hours go

A few lines about your team and the work that eats your week is plenty. You'll get a reply with times for a 30-minute call.

What happens next

  1. We read your note and reply by email with times.
  2. A 30-minute call about your team and the work.
  3. A written scope with deliverables, dates and a fixed fee.
